you wanna know what I think about baking?
It's great. If you're patient, you can turn ingredients that are nothing on their own into something delicious. It's very meditative. You have to focus on the ingredients, the measuring, the timing. It totally takes me out of my head. Also, you know what's in it so you won't feel as guilty as you would if you bought a cake in the store and ate the whole thing (over the course of a few days of course). It also helps you decide if it's worth it or not. It's effort. After all the mixing and cooking and cleaning, you have a treat as the reward. But you really have to want it because, honestly, who wants to cook and clean for nothing?
*Here's a tip...mix a batch of something individually sized (ie cookies, scones, biscuits) and freeze them. Then you have a single you can pop into the oven and won't waste a whole batch. Did I say waste? I meant eat.
I'm going to go bake a scone.
