Hi.

I have a blog!

This is fun!

Sayulita is one of my favorite places in Mexico.  It's on Banderas Bay, about 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta.  It's super chill and the locals (lots of expats) are really friendly.

It's funky and stylish.  There are chic boutiques next to gift shops with all kind of Mexican wares.  Street vendors sell everything from blankets to toys to jewelry.  Prices are pretty touristy but there are still good deals to be had on local knick-knacks to bring back to friends (or, if you're me, keep for yourself). Tacos and tequila are abundant but there are also places to grab a coffee or a snack while wandering around.

If you're in the mood, Sayulita beach has hourly massage tents (haven't done it myself but does not seem creepy at all).  Surf lessons and other water sports-y things are also available.

Here are a few of my favorite spots:

Sayulita Wine Shop- charming local wine and booze shop.  Great selection of local tequila or regional wine.  Check out the window in the back of the shop as it's been decorated with old bottles.  Really cool.

Evoke The Spirit - very stylish collection of jewelry, housewares and textiles made by local artisans.  Check out the Bull (steer?  Boy cow?) skulls that are embellished with intricate string designs that create these amazing a colorful pieces of art.

I mean, look at the view.
