I made this - Blueberry Boy Bait from Smitten Kitchen

I know I say this a lot, but Smitten Kitchen recipes are my favorites for baking.  Mainly because they are delicious but mostly because they're really easy,  especially when you have a Kitchenaid mixer.  (Get one, you won't regret it.  Other than losing a significant portion of counter space, it's the best thing I own).  So, back to the boy bait.  It totally is.  I've made it for a number of boys and they've all fallen madly in love with me.  Ok, a bit of a stretch but they did really like me a lot that day.  It is a really basic recipe but the difference between this and your average fruit based cake is that it's super fluffy.  She uses an absurd amount of baking powder that gives it a really airy texture.  Aside from that, it's got all the good stuff - mainly butter and sugar.  I cute the sugar down a little and double the amount of blueberries.  It calls for a cup total and that ain't nearly enough.  trust me.  You'll thank me later.  Also, the cinnamon/sugar on top gives it a kind of coffee cake vibe, which I love.  It's one of those cakes that is a breakfast/snack/dessert type thing and who doesn't love a cake that falls in all of those categories.
